ABSTRACT AN ANALYSIS OF TEACHING STYLE IN MERDEKA CURRICULUM THROUGH IN-SERVICE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Moza Moulidyah mozamaulidyah@gmail.com Abstract: This study aims to investigate the English teaching style in the Merdeka curriculum realized through professional development and to find out the benefits and challenges of developing the English teaching style in the Merdeka curriculum through teacher professional development. This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study design. The subjects in this study were three English teachers who had participated in in-service teacher professional education (PPG). The instruments used are observation of PPL videos and interviews with the teacher participants. The results showed that after participating in the in-service teacher professional education (PPG) program, many changes were experienced by the English teachers, especially in teaching style. They have to exit the comfort zone of traditional teaching styles and adopt teaching styles that are part of the Merdeka curriculum, where the teachers must be creative and innovative in classroom learning and focus on students. They received benefits, including using technology to help the learning process in class. Besides getting many benefits, teachers also face challenges, such as the lack of adequate school facilities.
