  PENGARUH WORK OVERLOAD TERHADAP KINERJA PEGAWAI DI BPJS KETENAGAKERJAAN CABANG CIREBON YANG DIMEDIASI OLEH STRES KERJA Riskianda1 Asep Gunawan2 Dadang Priyono3 1Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis, Universitas Muhammadiyah Cirebon Email : riskianda.ekonomi@gmail.com Abstract This research aims to test and determine the effect of Work Overload on Employee Performance and whether Job Stress is used as a mediating variable or not. In this research, a quantitative descriptive approach was used. The population in this study were all 31 BPJS Employment Cirebon Branch employees. The data used are primary and secondary data collected through observations and questionnaires. The scale used in this research is a Likert Scale. The test method is assisted with SPSS 26 using the Simple Linear Regression method and Partial Test/t Test. The results of data analysis show that Work Overload has a negative and insignificant influence on employee performance at BPJS Employment Cirebon Branch. Excessive workload also has a negative and insignificant impact on Job Stress. However, a more interesting finding is the role of work stress. Although workload in general can increase stress, the results of this study show that higher levels of stress are actually associated with increased employee performance. These findings show that stress is not always a factor inhibiting performance, but in certain contexts it can be a motivator that encourages employees to achieve better results. Keyword : Work Overload, Work Stres, Employee Performance PENDAHULUAN Perlindungan terhadap tenaga kerja dirancang untuk menjamin hak-hak dasar tenaga kerja agar memastikan bahwa semua orang memiliki kesempatan yang sama dan dilayani dengan cara yang sama, serta untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan tenaga kerja dan keluarganya sambil mempertahankan kemajuan dalam dunia bisnis. Dalam perekonomian saat ini, sektor ketenagakerjaan memainkan peran yang sangat penting yaitu untuk menjaga karyawan agar tidak termasuk dalam kategori miskin saat mereka di PHK. Seseorang yang harus bekerja agar dapat memperoleh uang yang cukup untuk memenuhi kebutuhannya. Menurut Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Nasional, seseorang atau warga negara yang berusia 15 tahun atau lebih sudah dapat digolongkan sebagai penduduk usia kerja.
