Sumber, Kabupaten Cirebon, Jawa Barat 45611, Indonesia Email: kohar6575@gmail.com Abstract The study entitled “Group Communication in Enhancing the Cohesiveness of the Rugby Team at Universitas Muhammadiyah Cirebon” aims to analyze the role of group communication in building team cohesiveness. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving the coach, assistant coach, and team members. The findings reveal that group communication plays a crucial role in fostering togetherness, strengthening collaboration, and building mutual trust among team members. Effective communication patterns, both verbal and nonverbal, were proven to enhance solidarity, minimize conflicts, and encourage collective motivation in achieving shared goals. The study concludes that intensive and open group communication significantly contributes to the improvement of team cohesiveness, thereby enabling optimal performance in both training sessions and competitions. Abstrak Penelitian berjudul “Komunikasi Kelompok dalam Meningkatkan Kohesivitas Tim Rugby Universitas Muhammadiyah Cirebon” bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran komunikasi kelompok dalam membangun kohesivitas tim. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi terhadap pelatih, asisten pelatih, serta anggota tim. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi kelompok memiliki peran penting dalam menciptakan kebersamaan, memperkuat kerja sama, dan menumbuhkan rasa saling percaya antaranggota tim. Pola komunikasi yang efektif, baik verbal maupun nonverbal, terbukti meningkatkan kekompakan, meminimalisasi konflik, serta mendorong motivasi kolektif dalam mencapai tujuan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa komunikasi kelompok yang terjalin secara intensif dan terbuka mampu meningkatkan kohesivitas tim sehingga performa dapat berjalan optimal dalam latihan maupun pertandingan.
