AN ANALYSIS OF ENGLISH TEACHERS’ PROFESSIONALISM THROUGH PPG PROGRAM

  The purpose of this research is to investigate what the PPG program, with the main focus being to find out what strategies are contained in the PPG program in an effort to increase the professionalism of an English teacher. The venue and the subjects were two English teachers who taught at vocational and junior high schools in the city of Cirebon who had used from the PPG program. This study used a qualitative approach, and used interviews and questionnaires as the instruments. The results of this study indicated that the strategies contained in the PPG program in an effort to increase the value of teacher professionalism, namely regarding the development of optimizing the use of technology media in learning, where teachers who took part in the PPG program were required to have a deeper understanding of the use of technological media as learning media, and it was proven that the strategy about optimizing media technology in the PPG program which could increase the value of a teacher's professionalism in teaching.
