AN ANALYSIS OF EFL STUDENT READINESS IN FACING KURIKULUM MERDEKA AT SMK KARTIKA XIX-3 CIREBON CITY

    The purpose of this research is to determine the readiness of students in facing the Kurikulum Merdeka and the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka. The subject ad object of the research were 10th grade pharmacy students at Kartika XIX-3 Vocational School, Cirebon City, totaling 19 students. They were 16 female students and 3 male students. This research used descriptive-qualitative design. The researcher used questionnaires, interviews and observations as the instruments. The results of this research indicate that student readiness is important so that students are more enthusiastic about learning and the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka must also be implemented according to the Ministry of Education and Culture's policies. It is just that it has not been proven because the results of this research show that students' readiness to face the Kurikulum Merdeka cannot be said to be ready because students' readiness to face an independent curriculum is only 78.7%. Implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka has also been implemented based on the observations and objectives of the Kurikulum Merdeka such as develop Strong and Characterized National Character, Improving the quality of learning, Adjusting to the times, and part of the independent learning effort. although students are not yet fully prepared to face the Kurikulum Merdeka.
